HFS STUDENT COUNCIL 2001-2002
- Develops leadership skills among students
- Promotes school spirit and pride
- Sets a positive school environment
- Encourages learning experiences for everyone
- Creates publicity about student events and ideas (informs, excites
and explains)
- Communicates student opinion about important issues
- Builds communication with all student groups and serves as the
voice of the students, in the community and with other schools
as well
- Solves problems and makes decisions using student input
- Sponsors events that enrich school life
- Sponsors social, academic, seasonal and special happenings
There will be six elected offices to help achieve this goal. The
officers will only be fifth and sixth grade students, with specific
offices for each grade. Sixth graders may run only for President,
Publicity Secretary, Treasurer, or Historian. Fifth graders may
run only for Vice President or Recording Secretary. Because of the
importance of student council officers as role models, we have created
eligibility standards which the candidates must live up to.
