HFS STUDENT COUNCIL 2001-2002
  • Develops leadership skills among students
  • Promotes school spirit and pride
  • Sets a positive school environment
  • Encourages learning experiences for everyone
  • Creates publicity about student events and ideas (informs, excites and explains)
  • Communicates student opinion about important issues
  • Builds communication with all student groups and serves as the voice of the students, in the community and with other schools as well
  • Solves problems and makes decisions using student input
  • Sponsors events that enrich school life
  • Sponsors social, academic, seasonal and special happenings

There will be six elected offices to help achieve this goal. The officers will only be fifth and sixth grade students, with specific offices for each grade. Sixth graders may run only for President, Publicity Secretary, Treasurer, or Historian. Fifth graders may run only for Vice President or Recording Secretary. Because of the importance of student council officers as role models, we have created eligibility standards which the candidates must live up to.
