Art Room Construction!
Get ready for a whole new look in the art room. The room desperately
needed waterproofing. The work was able to proceed this fall, unexpectedly,
so we lived for weeks in mayhem and madness. About every supply
on every shelf and cabinet needed boxed up and moved, several times,
actually! Tr. Margaret's 4th grade class came to the rescue to help
with the hard work of boxing. A fine coating of cement dust was
EVERYWHERE after the floor was ripped up, and every surface needed
to be wiped down before things could be put in place. Art in the
classroom was necessary for a few weeks, then a bit more controlled
chaos made it possible to move back down stairs.
Other work involved the radiators being moved and re-plumbed, and
the old cabinets and shelving were torn out. The new paint job on
the walls is finished. The metal base cabinets and the floor will
be repainted this summer. All the new storage furniture has arrived
and is in place, and already messy with Tr. Cathy's piles of junk.
Some things never change!
Now art room looks great, and will look even better after the painting
is done!
